This year marks the 5th year for Tammany Taste of Summer. The Tammany Taste of Summer works much like New Orleans’ Taste of Summer where Northshore restaurants participate in a summer dining deal program. The idea began in the New Orleans area to get locals to dine at local restaurants during the slow season.
This year Tammany Taste of Summer runs from August 1 – September 15, 2022. Restaurants throughout St. Tammany Parish will offer a special prix-fixe menu. Some restaurants that are participating include Palmettos on the Bayou in Slidell, Del Porto Ristorante in Covington and Avilla Grill in Mandeville and many more. Each restaurant will offer a summer tasting menu and special discounts. There are deals and discounts on hotels and special events throughout St. Tammany Parish.
St. Tammany Parish Tourist and Convention Commission organizes the annual event. The goal for the event is to help with tourism and increase revenue during the slow month of August. The Tammany Taste of Summer Savings Pass came about through Bandwango by St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission.
“Choosing to incorporate the Bandwango Savings Pass as the digital backbone to our annual Tammany Taste of Summer campaign has proven to be tremendously beneficial. It allows for valuable, real-time economic impact to be easily accessed and communicated to our community stakeholders,” says Anna Strider Manager of Marketing and PR for St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission.
