This krewe was organized in 1975 and parades on the first Saturday of the official New Orleans Mardi Gras season. This krewe was named after Lake Ponchartrain. There are 400 male and female rides on 17 floats. There most famous float was the world’s largest crawfish.

The parade begins at the intersection of Napoleon Ave and Tchoupitoulas St. It will turn right onto St Charles Ave where it will circle around Lee Cir back onto St Charles Ave. At Canal St the parade will turn right and then right again onto Tchoupitoulas where it will end at Tchoupitoulas and Poydras St.

This year Mardi Gras will be celebrated in New Orleans from January 6, 2020 (Twelfth Night) to Fat Tuesday on February 25, 2020. There will be 74 parades around the New Orleans Metro and the Northshore.
