This all-female krewe was established in 2018. The krewe’s motto is “We serve before they roll.” This year will be the first year the parade will ride in East New Orleans. The krewe is named after the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Two hundred women will ride on the 14 floats and throw jeweled items.
The parade will take a new route this year starting at Bullard Ave and Lake Forest Blvd. It will go west on Lake Forest Dr and turn left onto Read Blvd. At Read Blvd and Lake Forest Dr the parade takes a left. The parade will end at Read Blvd and Dwyer Rd.
This year Mardi Gras will be celebrated in New Orleans from January 6, 2020 (Twelfth Night) to Fat Tuesday on February 25, 2020. There will be 74 parades around the New Orleans Metro and the Northshore.
