This Uptown New Orleans krewe began in 1882 and is the second oldest krewe in Carvial history. They use the original chassis from the 1880s still today on their floats. The parade consists of 200 male riders on 20 floats. The krewe named itself after Proteus, the prophetic old man of the sea in Greek mythology.
This parade follows the Uptown route and begins at the intersection of Napoleon Ave & Magazine St. It then runs north and turns right onto St. Charles. It proceeds down St Charles to Lee St and goes around the circle. Then follows St Charles north to Canal St. Follows Canal to Chartres St where the parade will end.
