The Krewe of Elks Jefferson was founded in 1974 is sponsored by the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. This is a society worldwide that supports charitable needs. It has 4,000 female and male rides and has over 90 trucks. It is the oldest and biggest truck krewes in Jefferson Parish.
This parade runs in Metairie and will begin at the intersection of Veterans Blvd and Houma Blvd. It will continue east on Veterans until it comes to Severn Ave where it will turn north. At Severn and 12th St the parade will turn around and head south. It will then turn back onto Veterans and follow all the way to Bonnabel Blvd. It will turn north at Bonnabel and run north then turn around at Feronia St. It will then turn back onto Veterans and end at Veterans and Martin Behrman Ave.
This year Mardi Gras will be celebrated in New Orleans from January 6, 2020 (Twelfth Night) to Fat Tuesday on February 25, 2020. There will be 74 parades around the New Orleans Metro and the Northshore.
