The Louisiana Crawfish Festival was first started in 1975 by the Knights of Columbus Rummel Council 5747 in St. Bernard Parish. The festival is one of the biggest and best traditions in Louisiana. Patrons attend from all across the country and enjoy boiled crawfish and other local dishes. The festival has live entertainment, parades, crafts and carnival rides.

The Frederick Sigur Civic Center is located in St. Bernard Parish only six miles from the French Quarter. This state-of-the-art venue has a full stage equipped with the latest sound and lighting.
