The Bridge City Gumbo Festival is perfect for Bridge City as it is known as “The Gumbo Capital of the World.” The gumbo festival is held annually every second full weekend in October.
Gumbo is cooked daily on the festival grounds. There will be over 2,000 gallons of gumbo which include both seafood and chicken/sausage. Other food will also be available including jambalaya, New Orleans-style red beans and rice with sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, fried seafood, homemade cakes and candies and funnel cakes.
Come and see Miss Creole Gumbo and King Creole Gumbo along that will welcome you to the festival. Patrons can enjoy arts and craft vendors as well as live music.
