Join the fun this Independence Day at Covington’s beloved “4 on the 4th” Run/Walk, celebrating its 26th year of community spirit, fitness, and family fun. Hosted by the 15th Street Flyers running club, this festive event supports local nonprofits and brings neighbors together for a patriotic morning filled with energy and excitement. The action kicks off at Hubie Gallagher Park, with a four-mile adult race down 15th Avenue and a half-mile kids’ dash circling the park. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun holiday tradition, there’s a place for everyone at the starting line.
Stick around after the races for the ever-popular Beer Mile (ages 21+), where participants earn a cold brew with each of their four laps around the park—join solo or grab a few friends for a relay! Race-day registration opens at 6:30 AM, with adult races starting at 7:30 and the kids’ dash at 8:30.
