On January 25, 2025, the Krewe of Majestic will debut its inaugural parade in Covington, bringing a new tradition to the local Carnival season. Established in 2021 as a social club for tailgating parade enthusiasts, the group quickly expanded its mission to include year-round community involvement. Through fundraising efforts for school programs and local organizations, the krewe made a name for itself as a positive force in the community. A suggestion from a Covington City Council member to start a parade transformed their passion for celebration into a cornerstone of Carnival history.
The theme for their first parade is “Majestic Gras,” reflecting the krewe’s vibrant and regal spirit. Their signature throw will be lion-faced sunglasses, a playful nod to their logo and a keepsake sure to delight parade-goers. Each year, the krewe plans to introduce a new specialty throw to align with their annual theme, ensuring that Majestic Gras will remain a fresh and anticipated highlight of the season.
