The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Board is driven by the dedication of local volunteers who are appointed, elected, or represent one of eight participating non-profit organizations. These organizations are invited to select two of their members to serve on the board, granting them voting powers in festival decisions. This collaborative effort ensures that the festival remains a true community event, reflecting the shared values and traditions of Ponchatoula.
Each year, the board elects a new chairman who can appoint up to 20 additional volunteers to assist in planning the festival for the following year. The executive board is composed of other elected officials who serve terms with various limits, all playing a vital role in organizing this beloved celebration. The passion and hard work of every board member are instrumental in bringing the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival to life, and their commitment makes this event a cherished tradition for farmers and the community alike.
