Keep Covington Beautiful invites the community to take part in the Bogue Falaya River Sweep Litter Clean-up on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This annual event, hosted in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the City of Covington, and Canoe and Trail Adventures, brings together paddlers and volunteers to help preserve the natural beauty of the Bogue Falaya River. Paddlers bringing their own boats should meet at the Bogue Falaya Park Launch, while those using Canoe and Trail’s boats will gather at The Chimes dock. All paddlers must wear a personal flotation device, which participants must provide for themselves.
Event coordinators will supply litter grabbers, gloves, and trash bags, making it easy for volunteers to lend a hand in cleaning the river and its surroundings. After the sweep, participants can look forward to snacks, fellowship, and prizes as a thank-you for their efforts. The Bogue Falaya River Sweep offers a fun and meaningful way for the community to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and make a positive impact on the environment.
