New Orleans’ Oktoberfest 2021 has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19. This three-weekend celebration of German heritage is held in New Orleans during the month of October.

Enjoy Oompah music, a beer stein holding contest, German food, special dance performances, and a dancing chicken. There is even a dachshund race!

This tradition event started out as a wedding celebration over 200 years ago. The first Oktoberfest celebrated the marriage of Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen.
