The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is a 3-day event that happens every April in Ponchatoula. The free event is at Ponchatoula Memorial Park on North 6 Street. Families will enjoy live music, rides, food and tons of fun for everyone! The festival is the largest free harvest festival in Lousiana.
Ponchatoula is known as the strawberry capital of Louisiana and is the perfect setting for this festival. The first festival was in 1971 and was put on by the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce and the Ponchatoula Jaycees.
The first festival was on the first block of North 6th street with 11 booths and a parade. Nowadays the festival will draw in around 300,000 people and has over 40 booths.
