Krewe of Hermes was derived out of a party had because of the Great Depression. Founded in 1937 the krewe has 827 male riders on 32 floats. The krewe is named after the Greek winged courier of the gods. The captain always leads the parade in full regalia on a white horse.

This parade takes an uptown route beginning at Jefferson St and Magazine St. It will take Magazine St To Napoleon Ave and make a left. At Napoleon Ave and St Charles the route will take a right and follow St Charles and turn around Lee Cir. The parade will turn onto Canal St and follow until reaches Baronne St where it will turn left and end.

This year Mardi Gras will be celebrated in New Orleans from January 6, 2020 (Twelfth Night) to Fat Tuesday on February 25, 2020. There will be 74 parades around the New Orleans Metro and the Northshore.
